Reviving certificates
This information is for ACPs and scheme participants.
If you surrender or forfeit certificates in error, we can revive and return them to your organisation.
We can revive ESCs and PRCs.
ESCs do not expire. You can trade or surrender them after they are revived.
PRCs can expire. We first revive PRCs that have the most life left. We will only revive expired certificates if needed. If we revive an expired PRC, we will automatically extend its life by twelve months.
When we revive certificates
We revive certificates when:
- you have voluntarily surrendered a certificate in error
- you have forfeited a certificate in error
- a scheme participant has incorrectly surrendered certificates.
Contact us if this applies to you. We’ll investigate the issue and revive the certificates if needed. We’ll let you know the result in TESSA. If it’s approved, you’ll see the updated certificates in your certificate holdings.
