Auditing scheme participants
We use audits to provide reasonable assurance over information scheme participants provide when it can’t be verified against AEMO data. For example:
- non-market purchases
- supply of generation by a retailer
- exempt electricity loads.

The Audit Guide - Scheme Participants outlines our audit requirements and process for auditing scheme participants. It includes guidance on conflicts of interest, approval processes and reporting.
The DSW Submission Form - Scheme Participants details the scope items for a scheme participant audit. Auditors must complete and submit the form to IPART for approval. An auditor can use the form for both ESS and PDRS audits.
You can find more information about whether an audit is needed in our Compliance Guide - Scheme Participants.
