Our existing IT systems are undergoing major upgrades to integrate them into one online system called TESSA (The Energy Security Safeguard Application). TESSA is expected to go live later this year and will include a new Registry, ESS Portal functions and product registry.

TESSA’s features will roll out progressively from later this year, starting with current ESS online processes including the certificate registry for Energy Savings Certificates (ESCs).  The registry will be available to register Peak Reduction Certificates (PRCs) from 1 November 2022. The TESSA page provides more information.

In the meantime, you can continue to access all existing IT functions using the systems below.

The Registry is an online database which records the registration, transfer and ultimate surrender of energy savings certificates. It can be accessed by all participants and members of the public. More information is available about how it works in the Registry section of this website and under Registering and trading ESCs below.

ESS Portal

The ESS Portal is a web-based application used by Accredited Certificate Providers (ACPs) and Auditors. As an ACP, you use this application to request any changes to your accreditation, track the status of your audits, and submit implementation data sheets for the registration of ESCs. We use it to manage compliance of your accreditation and to keep you updated in relation to the audit and amendment process.

The primary contact of each ACP has the ability to add more users. Please ensure contact details are kept up to date, so that you receive all relevant communications relating to your accreditations and the ESS. Refer to the ACP User Guide - ESS Portal for more information

If you experience any technical difficulties with the ESS Portal please contact us. Include a brief description of the problem you are experiencing, and attach a screenshot of the issue if possible. Support will be available Monday to Friday within business hours and we will do our best to contact you within one business day of receiving your request.

ELT Portal and product search for lighting technologies

The Emerging Lighting Technology (ELT) Portal is used for the acceptance of emerging lighting technologies (ELTs) under the Commercial Lighting method.

A searchable list of accepted lighting technologies under the Commercial Lighting method is available on our Product Search function.

You will need to use the ELT Portal and Product Search if your activity involves installation of ELTs under the Commercial Lighting method. Detailed lighting requirements are available to support the use of the ELT Portal.
